Furry Peeps products are made to be worn, washed, dragged around, slept on, slobbered near and generally incorporated into a pet’s extremely demanding lifestyle. A little sensible care helps them stay looking fabulous for much longer.

The product page gets the final word.

Materials, finishes and print methods vary between products, so the care instructions shown on the individual product page and any instructions supplied with your item are the ones that apply to that particular product.

Different products need different care. Here are the sensible general rules, plus one very important reminder to check the specific instructions for the exact thing you bought.

Product-specific instructions always win.

If the product page, packaging or attached care information says something different from the general guidance below, follow the instructions supplied for your particular product. Materials, coatings, hardware and print processes can differ.

Collars, leads + harnesses

Walkies gear gets a proper workout, so give it a quick check regularly and follow the care instructions for the exact material.

Inspect straps, stitching, buckles, clips and attachment points regularly
Stop using the item if you notice significant damage or weakening
Clean according to the product-specific instructions
Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach and unnecessary heat
Make sure collars and harnesses continue to fit correctly

Bowls + feeding gear

Food and water products deserve regular cleaning, but printed and decorated surfaces still prefer gentle treatment.

Follow the cleaning instructions for the exact bowl or feeding product
Do not assume dishwasher suitability unless stated
Avoid abrasive scourers over printed or decorated surfaces
Rinse away food residue and allow items to dry properly
Replace damaged or cracked feeding products where appropriate

DINNER IS ALREADY THE MOST IMPORTANT EVENT OF THE DAY. KEEP THE BOWL NICE TOO.

Blankets + bedding

Soft things prefer soft treatment, even when the animal sleeping on them has just rolled enthusiastically in something suspicious.

Follow the attached care label or product-page washing instructions
Use sensible wash settings suitable for the fabric
Avoid bleach unless the product instructions specifically allow it
Use low heat only where permitted
Keep fabrics away from open flames and excessive heat

Bandanas + pet clothing

Clothing and fabric accessories should be cleaned according to their material and checked for a safe, comfortable fit before use.

Follow the product-specific washing directions
Avoid excessive heat and harsh cleaning products
Check fasteners and seams before dressing your pet
Make sure nothing is too tight, restrictive or uncomfortable
Remove clothing or accessories if your pet becomes distressed

FASHION IS IMPORTANT. BREATHING AND MOVING COMFORTABLY REMAIN SLIGHTLY MORE IMPORTANT.

Towels + washable fabrics

Towels are built to meet water. The printed surface does not, however, require a personal vendetta from the washing machine.

Machine wash only as directed by the product page or care label
Use low dryer heat only where permitted
Avoid bleach and harsh cleaners
Do not aggressively scrub printed areas
Wash before first use where the product instructions recommend it

MUD IS TEMPORARY. A DRYER SET TO THE SURFACE OF THE SUN CAN BE MORE COMMITTED.

Lunch bags, travel bags and other useful pet-parent equipment should be cared for according to the material used.

Follow product-specific cleaning directions
Spot clean where recommended
Avoid soaking products not designed for machine washing
Allow damp interiors and components to dry thoroughly
Keep printed surfaces away from abrasive rubbing where practical

Hard-surface and printed accessories prefer gentle cleaning and regular inspection, particularly when they live on an active pet.

Wipe gently with a soft damp cloth where appropriate
Avoid abrasive cleaners, scourers and sharp objects
Inspect attachment hardware regularly
Replace damaged items that may no longer be secure or safe
Keep printed surfaces away from unnecessary chemical exposure

Inspect regularly for tears, loose pieces or significant damage
Remove damaged toys where continued use may become unsafe
Clean only according to the product-specific directions
No pet toy is indestructible

CERAMIC + CONCRETE REMAINS AN EXTREMELY UNFAIR MATCH-UP.

Printed things prefer gentle enthusiasm.

They are designed to be used. They are not designed to be scrubbed like they personally caused the muddy pawprints across the kitchen.

Keep printed surfaces looking excellent.

Printed and decorated surfaces can gradually wear if repeatedly exposed to abrasion, strong chemicals, extreme heat or conditions beyond what the particular product is designed to handle.

A SMALL REALITY CHECK

Pet stuff is not indestructible stuff.

Normal wear and tear, chewing, scratching, accidental damage, incorrect care, misuse and damage that occurs after delivery are different from a manufacturing fault.

Products that are used every day may naturally show signs of wear, particularly collars, leads, harnesses, bedding, toys and printed products exposed to repeated washing or abrasion.

Regularly inspect anything your pet wears, chews, pulls against or sleeps on and replace items when they are no longer suitable for safe use.

Pets remain pets.

If Barkley decides a beautifully personalised item is actually an advanced chewing challenge, the product has not mysteriously developed a manufacturing fault. Barkley has simply committed very enthusiastically to his work.

Read the instructions Product-specific care beats assumptions every time.

Inspect the hardware Clips, rings, buckles and stitching deserve a regular once-over.

Skip abrasives Printed surfaces do not enjoy being sanded during cleaning.

Check the heat Low means low. Heat becomes very committed once involved.

Use pet-parent sense Damaged gear, loose parts and unhappy pets are excellent reasons to stop.
